I could spend all day by myself pouring over God's word, learning the ways and nature of the Lord. And that's the problem. A faith that remains in my notes and thoughts doesn't effectively share the beauty of the gospel with others. And yet, that's what I want. I want others to fall in love with Jesus, delight in his word, and live abundantly for him. And so, From the Overflow...
From The Overflow has become a means of pouring out on others what I am drinking in from the Word. It moves the faith rooted in my heart and mind to grander places where it can grow and do good in this world. It's the way I'm learning to live out the love I find in the scriptures with others; one page at a time, one heart at a time, one step at a time.

BE ~ WITH ~ OTHERS
I've been thinking a bit about how we live out the idea of 'from the overflow of his love, we love'. Care to join me? I'd love your thoughts. For nearly two years (and twenty individual drives for some of the most beautiful and grateful people I've ever met), we've collected countless needed items FOR others in our midst. It's been rewarding, it's been humbling, and it's been exciting.
This year, I'd like to shift gears and consider ways that we can show and share love by being WITH others. Maybe it's as easy as dropping a meal off to a family walking through a tough time. Or maybe it's a cup of coffee and a game of cribbage with a friend who is feeling low. Perhaps it's opening your home and inviting in the one you sense is feeling lonely. Or maybe it's filling out an application to volunteer with an organization that loves on people in your community.
I'm sure there are as many ways to be with others as there are others who long for someone to be with them. Let's pick something, and get at it.
